Leonard Bernstein, Music and Reconciliation in Germany, 1948 and Today
Leonard Bernstein's historic concerts in Germany in May 1948 marked a turning point in his future relationship with the former Nazi countries. In addition to conducting at the Opera in Munich, he conducted a chamber orchestra made up of Holocaust survivors -- "Displaced Persons" still awaiting emigration visas. 70 years later, the families of the musicians are reunited at an anniversary concert in Landsberg am Lech.
